Bondi Reveals Inquiry into President's Rivals and Jeffrey Epstein Ties

This past Friday, Pam Bondi designated interim US attorney Jay Clayton to lead an probe into opponents of Donald Trump and their connections with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came shortly after the president directed her to initiate the investigation.

During an announcement, the Attorney General highlighted Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. The official added, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This action contrasts with a July memo from federal authorities which indicated that the Epstein files lacked grounds for additional investigations. According to the document, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

The President Demands Focus on Political Opponents in Epstein Matter

The announcement coincides with growing demands from Trump on congressional Republicans to resist the full release of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are expected to support the disclosure.

Newly public communications from Jeffrey Epstein have highlighted Trump’s past involvement with the sex trafficker, revealing information that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

On Friday, Trump announced he would ask the Department of Justice to investigate Epstein’s ties with Democrats, including prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also referred to the “Epstein hoax” as a “deception”.
