Former FBI chief James the ex-FBI chief has pleaded not guilty to providing misleading information to lawmakers and impeding a congressional proceeding.

The former director's legal representative entered the answer acting as his counsel in a federal court in the Virginia city of Alexandria on mid-week.

His attorney stated he would attempt to have the legal matter terminated for various factors including that his defendant, a opponent of Donald Trump, was being singled out.

Mr Comey was indicted shortly after Donald Trump pushed his top legal official to proceed against him.

In court on mid-week, his attorney the legal representative advised the court they planned to submit several petitions to throw out the proceedings before a legal hearing, claiming the legal action was spiteful and that a US attorney was wrongfully assigned to take over the legal matter.

These allegations against Mr Comey came after Trump shared on digital channels calling for his attorney general, Pam Bondi, prosecute James Comey and others.
